My dear widowed community, from my experience since May 2001,interviewing, counseling and intervening in widows’ issues; I discovered that a good number of widows say negative words over their situation.
Yes, widowhood is a tough terrain but then your mindset could ease it off to a good extent. Remember that from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
I have heard fresh widows say and cry out loud in words like, “I am dead; “I am finished”; My children have no future; life has no meaning; these people have finished me; these people will kill me; they are more powerful than I am so they will finish me; my children and I are helpless; my children and I are without protection; nobody wants to help us; everybody hates us; hunger will kill us; we shall be homeless.”
These are just a few of my documented common phrases I hear widows say. And not just fresh widows, some old widows say such and I don’t mean old by age but by duration of the journey.
What you speak, you give life to, you empower over you and your spirit succumbs to.
“I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:2 KJV. That’s the word of God!
I bring this word from the above Scripture to suggest to you to begin to say what the Word says and what you want to see.
Remember Gideon? “And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.” Judges 6:12 KJV. Gideon saw himself and his clan as the weak and yet the Angel called him mighty man of valor. He was later same person who fought with 300 men and won. The words from the Angel of God empowered him and he had a mindset shift! Same can happen to you if only you will pay attention, listen and believe!
What you’re calling yourself is not what God calls you. How do you find what he calls you? Go closer to him, study the word, who you are is clearly stated in there. Locate it and run with it!
What are you saying? I will say of the Lord! Are you saying of the Lord? Or are you magnifying the words of the devil over you?
Quit labeling yourself in the negatives, quit saying what empowers the demons to keep you down!
You are more! Change your mindset and speak the right words…
