Daniella: I want to go home to Enugu, mom when is the airport ready?
Me: they will make an announcement and we leave. I also need to go home.
Daniella: Mom, I need a vacation trip and I want to see animals too. Can we go and see animals?
Me: Mama, I am cooking an animal nu, come and see it. I have goat in the pot right here and you’re asking to go far to see an animal? That will cost us money going to Bronx zoo.
Daniella: noooooo, goat is meat and not an animal. I want to see animals. I want to see Zebra, monkey, and real animals, we saw at the farm and zoo.
Me: you mean that kind of school trip I joined in? That one we paid for?
Daniella: yes mom.
Me: nwata, I won’t pay penny for you to see animals ooo. I have paid twice. That money in our local currency will set up an animal farm for us.
Daniella: mom, this is summer and we are not going anywhere, you’re always cooking and writing and reading, and doing Facebook live. Let’s go and see an animal. Daniella wants to see animals.
Me: Daniella we will go on you tube and see the animals and that won’t cost me a dime. You’re constantly on animal channel and you still want to see them?
Daniella: 
this my mom is something else. You tube doesn’t have real animals. We go to the farm or zoo ok?
Me: ok let’s strike a deal. Once the flights resume and we go back home, there’s an animal market called new artisan market that’s a short walk from our house in Enugu, we go there and you see live animals. That one won’t cost me a dime.
Daniella: what type of animals are there? Do they have zebra, elephant and kangaroo?
Me: (rolls my eyes) they have ram, Eghu, (goat) lamb, cow of male and female stock. They also have dogs loitering about.
Daniella: mom, I want to see real animals! Those ones are meat, not animals.
Me: meat. Did you say meat? Ok let’s continue this discussion when I am done cooking ok? Mana note that dog isn’t meat here oo, it’s a pet oo.
Daniella: ok mom. Can I have baby carrots please?
Me: yes go ahead and also go downstairs and be sure your babies are good and please change their diapers and bathe them. (anything to keep her away from this animal zoo visit proposal).
Each child we birth and raise is different. I have raised two before Daniella and she’s the one that won’t take no for an answer and I see a lawyer in her but she’s told me she would want to be a nurse and an ambulance driver!! There goes my Attorney!!
